At an alternative school for pregnant or parenting teens. It looks like an opportunity to really make a difference. Hooray! I just hope I like it as well as I liked my other school. I’m still sad to have left that one.

I have an interview with a school for teen mothers- it sounds very nice and very interesting. I also have some observations set up at some other middle schools- Prospects look good, but I still miss my first assignment- alas. I just hope I like the kids at the new place as well as the old.
I can’t believe I would get attached to a place or people so soon, but my school’s budget is being cut due to lower enrollment, so I will need to be placed in a different school. I loved the people so much, and the kids – well… I will never forget them. I never cried when I left other jobs in the past. The fact that I cried all afternoon tells me at least that this is difficult but the right place for me to be right now. I will miss my school but hope my new one is even half as nice.
I need patience. The kids I have really have a hard time staying on task. My group are bright, and most try very hard, but they try my patience too. That’s my word for the day.
I have 8th grade social studies and English, self-contained, and I team-teach inclusion interdisciplinary studies and math. So far, after the first week, I’m encouraged. It’s a nice school, and the kids are dynamite! I’m looking forward to this, even though I know a lot of hard work is to come.
I’ll be teaching the humanities in a middle school, and I loved the principal. I haven’t started yet, so I’m nervous, but very exciting to know where I’m going to be. It’s also been wonderful to learn new things, and I’m learning so much. I can’t wait to meet my new students!
The coursework, crammed into 4 weeks for the summer, is heavy! Wow, this is a profession buried in legalities. No wonder it’s stressful.
I have interviewed several places so far, no job yet. But that’s OK, I wouldn’t hire me as a first choice either (no experience in the classroom- yikes!) but I have 3 interviews next week, all middle school. And classes for the MA at the university start next week as well, beginning on the 3rd of July, 06.
I got accepted into a grad program that will pay for the degree and even give me a stipend. I’m not sure I can live on the stipend, but … yes of course I can. I’ll just add “live on less money” or “spend less money” to my list of things I’m doing, and voila! Anyway, I’m on my way!!!!
