I downloaded a ‘live’ CD and tested it out on my current machine – all hardware detected and configured correctly – the only beef I had was that it run in 60hz (my monitor can support 80hz @ 1280 rez), but other than that.. all good.

The only thing stopping me from going to linux is Counter-Strike Source. I must get CSS running on linux with great performance before I can change.
