My most recent hispanic patient, who knew very little english and I who knows very little espanol.
We were a great team, once he got off the ventilator. I almost loved him.

I think it’s spelled rojo. but the boy says it ROW-HOE!
He also says AZ-SOOL! (for azul).
He even substitutes those words in his everyday vocabulary.
An amazing child.
from the only spanish speaking person I hear on a regular basis…Dora The Explorer.
It’s a start.
my 4 yr. old is teaching me spanish?? AMAZING.
we count in spanish all the time. Now this isn’t coversational, but it’s amazing to be taught by someone so young.
I work in a hospital where the majority of folks who speak a second language speak spanish. I’ve learned that if I speak ENGLISH LOUDER, they still don’t understand me. I can ask them if they are in pain, are they okay, are they crazy, but that is about it. Any suggestions on HOW to learn spanish? My kids learn spanish from Dora the explorer…but she generally doesn’t use the same kind of spanish that I need to use. (I’m a nurse) Hm, suggestions anyone?
