If I’m meeting friends in the pub have at least 1 juice. This also helps with other goal/thing “5 portions of fruit/veg per day”.

Office Christmas party last night. 4 pints of Carlsberg which was only 3.8% and 1 bottle of Becks between 7:30pm and 00:30am. Not bad. Someone was taking a taxi passing by where I live towards the end of the night so I took the chance to leave. I was feeling the urge to stay for longer with the others at the end of the night. That is the moment that is important. When deciding to leave as planned or to stay for longer. I have made the wrong decision too many times.
Tactics
Drink less when out (lower alcohol beer, shandy, no spirits, switch to soft drinks after x drinks, etc).
Drink on less occasions.
Leave on time as planned.
Started at 9:00pm Saturday. Went into a venue around midnight. Then around 3 or 4 went into The Castle, a 24hr bar in Whitechapel. Stayed there way too long. I need to make sure I never go into this place ever again.
Been off it for 2 weeks and 2 days. Had one glass of red wine at dinner last night and then switched to grape juice. Clubbing and after-parties are the danger zone for me. Also for any socialising during the week I will cut down by drinking shandy regularly or alternately no alcohol at all sometimes.
thursday, shandy in the pub and then fruit juice during dinner in nandos.did well that night. friday didn´t go out. saturday 4 pints of guinness. sunday 2 pints of lager before and during dinner.not great.over all not bad though.
I am going to drink shandy (half lager, half lemonade) more often, rather than pints of stout, lager all of the time.
I had friends from Spain and Ireland staying with me for the weekend so it turned into one long party.The worst day being Saturday when we started at 4:00 pm and finished on Sunday morning around 8:00am. Sunday and Monday I felt really depressed and down. Some of the weekend was great fun. The excess was not. I am going to reset my limits but before I do that I am going to stop going to clubs altogether for a while.
Did pretty good on this at the weekend. Friday night, went to a club and had no alcohol. Saturday night, went out and had one pint of guinness over about 2 hours. Sunday, barbecue in the the park, had 4 cans over 5 hours. There is a new 4% beer from Artois which is pretty tasty.
4 pints of Guinness on Saturday night. Two more pints of porter at the St Patricks festival on Trafalgar Sq. I kind of like it when occasionally people are slightly disappointed because they expect me to drink a lot because I am Irish. As a people we do and I have myself personally done the same many times in the past. Drinking less makes me feel happier in myself and fits in nicely with my own philosophy on being a little bit different to everybody else. It becomes clearer everytime that it is the amount of time I spend with friends and the conversations and laughs we share that is the enjoyable part rather than the quantity we drink.
Had 1 bottle of Heineken, Sat. evening in bar with flatmate.
Sat night, 1 glass of absinth with flatmates at home.
