Hey I’m now 1/4 of the way there! Go me!
I just finished watching “A Clockwork Orange.” Very, very, very creepy. Overall I still enjoyed it. I had no idea I actually would. It’s hard to go in watching a movie you know tells the story of a serial rapist with enthusiasm and the knowledge that you’ll likely suffer from chronic nightmares after watching it. Not to mention the eeriness of the entire film. The rape scenes were horrible, and I had a hard time watching them, but I managed to get through it. I’d recommend to a friend, but I would strongly advise to watch it with someone else. Especially if you are female.
Ok and I’m going to add Taxi Driver and On the Waterfront to the list. I saw them within the last week.
Oh and I forgot to mention that I saw Casablanca some time ago and really enjoyed it. Number two was certainly well-deserved.
Ok so I just saw Rebel Without a Cause. Excellent movie, very glad I saw it. Time for me to keep track of what I’ve seen so far:
1. The GodFather
2. Gone with the Wind
3. The Wizard of Oz
4. It’s a Wonderful Life
5. Some Like it Hot
6. Star Wars
7. The Maltese Falcon
8. E.T. —The Extra-Terrestrial
9. The Godfather Part II (well, half of it)
10. Doctor Zhivago
11. West Side Story
12. Jaws
13. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
14. The Sound of Music
15. Fantasia
16. Rebel Without A Cause
17. Raiders of the Lost Arc
18. Forrest Gump
19. My Fair Lady
So I deleted “jump out of a birthday cake” from my list to add this one, but I don’t care about that goal anyway. I don’t even know why I put it up. Anyway, Here’s the list of the American Film Institute’s 100 greatest films of all time:
