get my car fixed

So, I got my car fixed.
Only the internal things, but thats what’s most important anyway.
So my engine, oil, valves and whatever else is GOOD.
Got new breaks, replaced all my missing bulbs and got new fog lights!
Unfortunately, someone tried to steal my brand new fog lights the night the car came home…lol, probably a crack-head. They didn’t get them but they broke the front cage thing trying, sooo….
I still have some cosmetic things to work on but my baby is running smooth and I am happy!!!

So, I drive a Black 1999 VW Beetle, AND I LOVE IT! I’ve been in love with and have wanted that car since I was in the 7th grade. I got it used before in my senior year of high school in 2003 and have been pushing it ever since. No one can tell me shyt about MY BUGGY! ILOVEIT!!!

But… it just turned ten years old and there are just a couple of kinks and such that need to be worked out. It runs well, despite the fact that I’m not the most car conscious person alive. I tend to miss my tune ups and an oil change here and there but despite my mistreatment, she never does me wrong! There are some major things, like my tune up, and oil change check engine light and transmission that need to be taken care of but the rest is strictly cosmetic.
I kept losing hubcaps so my tires are naked, the interior is kinda falling apart, NOT too badly. The trim on the door is on the passenger floor and my driver’s door can use some attention or glue. lol. The car needs a complete detailing, I mean it’s GRIMY in there, I bet some of that dirt is 10 years old. A couple small plastic parts have snapped off like the knob for fixing the mirrors and the cup holders, the tape deck is broken, so radio all the way, BABY. And also the gas tank won’t close.

Now about the exterior…ummm let’s just say I live in Philadelphia, City of the tiny streets! Side swipes and reckless drivers are as common as breathing so there are a few, well a little more than a few scuffs and scrapes of all different colors are on my baby. I always say I’m glad it’s black when I see other white and yellow buggy’s all scratched up. I originally thought I just needed a buff n shine. But a good friend of mine who paint cars gave me the “huh? No” that’s not going to do it. So I need a paint job as well. I also didn’t mention my small rear passenger turning signal is dangling in the back, and two of my bulbs are blown…

It sounds like a whole lot when I write it down but like I said it’s purely cosmetic. A lot of people would probably tell me to trade it in, since it’s all paid for, but I love my car! Not to mention I love not having an extra bill every month like I would if I did trade it in. I’d be paying a good 300 dollar a month car note since I’m sure a dealer wouldn’t give me much for my car (in its present state) and also my insurance would go up as well. I don’t need to tell you that in these economic times, I cannot afford all of that! IM GOOD! So my plan is to little by little, fix up my car, starting with the important stuff and working my way down. I think saving up for these things and getting parts and pieces from scrap yards will be a lot more practical than running out and signing my name on the dotted line. So that’s my plan and I’m sticking to it! Wish me the best!!! Vroom Vroom Skreech!!!
