stay in touch with my friends

First of all, I tried very hard to stay in touch with my friend Mel. I was calling her, but given the fact she has a little boy less than a year old, it’s hard for her to let him with his father and just get out have some fun.
I understand her love and interest in her family: that’s what she always wanted in life.
However, I’m sad for our friendship. I was hoping we’d stay close. She has now moved to another city, and although I emailed her, she haven’t answered yet. It’s been weeks…

I guess it’s not my destiny to have faithful friends…

I’ve never considered myself as a good friend. I’m not mean or hypocrite to them, at the contrary! I really care for them and if there’s anything I can do to help, I will. Their happiness makes me happy.

My problem is that I don’t call them often. Like, it’s great if I call a friend twice in a year and send a few emails. That doesn’t mean I don’t give a damn about them.

The very few friends I have left understand that, I think.
