happily using Ubuntu

Quite interested in this, so downloaded a “live” CD to try it out.
I hate the “nothing to hide, nothing to fear” crowd, who seem intent to allow our government to spy on everything we do. I don’t exist by government allowance, they exist by my allowance. Yet I am not allowed to know what they are doing (official secrets act, y’know?), even when it involves rendition flights, possible torture, etc. Therefore we seem forced to try things like this.
Downloaded and installed Ubuntu linux, then did nothing but play the “five in a row” game for the next few hours! :-) Okay, I’m easily side-tracked, but it is really fun. Funny how the simplest games are often most enjoyable.
Currently it’s on a dual boot with XP, and after a few weeks getting used to it I’ll can XP if I like Linux. With the way computing is going, and “trusted computing” alliances controlling my machine, I need to do this sooner or later as a way to reclaim back MY property, i.e. the computer I bought and paid for. I don’t want anyone else remote controlling it.
