Wow. What a book…

#20 The Life of Pi - Yann Martel 4 months ago

The book is as addictive as its story is totally crazy and original. A great read.

#19: Schott's Original Miscellany - Ben Schott 10 months ago

That’s the kind of book I adore reading once in a while. I’m sure that if I read it again in 4 months I will still learn new things and feel like I never read some parts of it. :)

#18: Ted Stanger - Sacrés Américans 10 months ago

Ted Stanger is a journalist who was in charge of various bureau for Newsweek. After 25 years of living in France he came back to his hometown, Colombus, Ohio. The shock that he had when he returned home gave him the idea to write this book in, I believe, French. As a French who loves the United States it was a fun read even though I didn’t learn much more than what I’ve seen when I was in the U.S. Although I did appreciate to see an American opinion about our differences and one opinion which was not all about hating France for once. ;-)

Before that book he wrote another one but about French people. Now i’m interested to read this one and compare how he changed after 25 years living in my country!

#17: Annie Leibovitz At Work - Annie Leibovitz 12 months ago

Great read from a great photographer. Even though I wish she had gone more into technical details, I loved that she shared all those anecdotes.

But what I will remember mostly from the book is to see that even big photographers like her are confronted to the same problems and frustrations about their photography as me. It made me feel better about me and my photography :)

#16 La confusion des sentiments - Stefan Zweig 13 months ago

English title: Confusion of Feelings.

Is it possible to write a bad review about Zweig? it’s ALWAYS amazing… Since I can’t read German I read it in French.

#14: Silk - Alessandro Baricco 15 months ago

Short book, powerful story, great reading. Intoxicating and refreshing! It’s an Italian author, I read the book in French. My Italian is not good enough to read it in its original version.

#13 - The History of Love: A Novel - Nicole Krauss 16 months ago

Read it. Feel it. Love it.

I cried. The title is appropriate. I realised the meaning of life in what was a moment of full grace when I read the last 10 pages of that book. Love IS the answer.

I don’t know what happened, but it pretty much changed my life. Especially since that song was playing in total synchronisation with the words I was reading…

I heart Augusten Burroughs. He’s so gifted… one of the best book i’ve read in a long time. Enough said.
