2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you? I love Maine. I use big words not to impress or annoy but because I love them. I hate conflict.

5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
To lose another 25 pounds and get fitter.
6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
Alive, active, healthy, and getting ready to retire.
7. What stage of life are you in right now?
The stage where I have started worrying just a little bit less about getting all of the work done and a little bit more about the fun and interesting things I want to do in the years I have left.
8. Are you more child-like or childish?
Definitely child-like.
9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
“Love you.” To my husband after he kissed me goodnight.
10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?

Not even one.
12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
Mostly it balances out, probably tilting more to the better side – some of the “worse” times are spectacularly bad but there are so many “better” times and so many of those are spectacularly better so that it feels like it must tend to get better, overall.

If you allow it to.
14. How do you handle a rainy day?
I don’t bother with an umbrella, if that is what you mean. But I do drive more cautiously.
15. Which is worse…losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
I’ve never lost my luggage and I don’t mind sorting out tangled holiday lights, so, I can’t really say.
16. How is your relationship with your parents?
My father, who has been dead for more than 10 years, is with me every single day. My mother, who used to be my best friend, is still alive but has left me in more ways than I can count and it makes me very sad.
Will you miss them when they are gone?
I already do.
17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
Very much so. I practice “Lessons in Noticing”
18. What is the truest thing that you know?
That the truth is relative.
19. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A nurse.
20. Have you ever been given a second chance?
I’m sure I have but I cannot think of a specific example at this moment.
21. Are you more of a giver or a taker?
I would like to say “giver” but I imagine that is a matter of perception.
22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?
It depends on the decision that needs to be made. And, as I think about it, making a decision with a closed heart/mind, doesn’t really qualify as making a decision, anyway, does it? I mean, if your mind is closed then the decision making process doesn’t occur, right?
23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Waking up with a kidney stone. It felt like I had exploded an ovary.
24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Hmmm…if I look back on the things that I hold onto (for the most painful things are the things we can’t let go of, right?)…well, if I am honest (and why shouldn’t I be?) it would have to be something that happened on December 27, 2009. That’s all I will say here.

My husband and a co-worker who got the full time job.

My husband, several of my colleagues, my friend Jeanne.

I certainly do!

For lack of a better term, “Gay Rights” I believe with all my heart and all my soul and all my being that being gay is NOT a sin and that there is a spectrum of sexuality. And I am not gay.
