I solved this problem in a unique way.
First, I thought, I need to track everything I eat. So I had fun creating a spreadsheet which I could use to track everything, and picking up a new food scale, measuring cups, and measure spoons. After 6 days of tracking my diet though, I began to slack off.
Rather than struggle with that and have another reason to be frustrated, I came up with my unique solution. I posted an ad in the jobs section looking for someone to come by early in the morning and do the hard labor of calculating my previous days diet.
This has worked wonders, in four ways:
1. I always get up early and on time since someone will be at my door
2. I get to spend my morning chatting amiably with someone while preparing my breakfast and lunch
3. I am wide awake after she leaves, so I don’t feel so much resistance to hitting the gym
4. And my diet is being tracked!
I’ve put on 5 pounds of muscle in the last three months, and when my exercise partners are sore, I’m not! I am convinced that eating right has made all the difference.
I feel great, pretty much never get sick, and find myself more confident and energetic. Totally worth the $15 I pay for my nutrition assistant.
