Share in the 2007 43Things holiday card exchange

to everyone who didn’t get a card. While I like the stamp I carved to make cards, I didn’t like how the cards themselves turned out. Soooo…I’ve decided to hang on to everyone’s addresses and send random cards throughout the year, then try to improve my cards for the next holiday exchange.

finished carving the stamp. It definitely looks like it’s made by a novice, but I thinks it’s kinda cool looking. It’s the most complicated stamp I’ve carved thus far and took forever to get just right. I’ve made out 4 cards so far, so I’ll try to get them in the mail tomorrow.

My mantle looks so festive with all of the cards I’ve been receiving. I’ll try to post a picture soon. Thank you to everyone who has sent one my way.

I’m still in the process of making mine. I carved a stamp with a message on it and made some of the letters backwards. A fairly common mistake for beginning carvers like myself, but completely unacceptable for holiday cards! So I started over.

I just got my first cards and they out me in such a festive mood, that I’m craving eggnog (with rum,please)!

I started carving a stamp to use in the making of my card, but as I’m not very good at carving (I’m trying to get better) and the design requires a bit of finesse, it’s taking awhile. I know that there’s some value in handmade things whether they turn out beautiful or not (you should see the shelf of sculpted crap art created by my kids), and I know that 43Ters are some of the nicest people around and you guys would love whatever kind of card you get, but still, I hope it turns out nice.

came up with an idea for a design. It’s going to be a little while before I can finish making cards and send them out, so I they’ll probably be New Year’s cards.
