i took ASL I last semester and learned so much. I can’t wait to take ASL II next semester! learning about another culture is just so amazing, and i hopefully will be able to use it to communicate with a deaf person someday. My teacher is deaf, but she is amazing at lip reading and speaking. she’s got such a great personality, i love talking to her after class and incorporating any of the signs i’ve learned into the conversation.

when I was in kindgergarden I had a friend who was deaf. I don’t really know how we got along so well because he couldn’t speak, and I didn’t know sign language. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to learn it. I used to rent children’s sign language videos at the library, and watch them with the kids i babysat. Anyway, I am signed up for a course in ASL at my college in the fall, and I can’t wait.
