I cranked out the piece of flash fiction this morning that I was needing to write while putting more audiobooks on my mp3 player. I like it – I think I did what I wanted to do with it.

Awesome Halloween 2 weeks ago

I don’t remember enjoying Halloween this much since Millie was little and dressed as Uhura; nobody recognised her as even being from Star Trek, but She had fun. This year my youngest is three, and understands a little bit more about holidays as special day. Thus, she’d been looking forward to Halloween for a few weeks. I was able to finally pick up her costume on Friday – she’d been wanting to BE Snow White for months. So yesterday was fun. We went out once when it was still light out, but after five or six blocks she started to get too cold and wanted to go home. Later when it was dark outside she wanted to go out again to see all of the ghosts, lights, and lit-up pumpkins; it was only 630, so I took her out for a few more blocks. We had fun, and she gave us hardly any problems when told that 3 pieces of candy were more than enough to eat for one night.

Top Chef 3 weeks ago

My 13 year old daughter Amelia is quickly becoming the house’s best cook. She made a type of chicken casserole with home-made bisquets on top that was absolutely perfect! I can not imagine it tasting better that it did. good job Millie! I was so proud of her ass-kicking cooking that I did the dishes for her.

Clonkers! 3 weeks ago

I played 2 games of this with Abi today. She lasted for longer than half a game both times, while playing By The Rules – and the game is meant for ages 9 and up! (She just turned 3 last month)

Now she’s trying to clonk out on me and it’s 4:04!! I wish she would have done this at 11AM, if she passes out it will ruin her bedtime, not to mention my only homework time…

Sunday 3 weeks ago

My posts for this keep popping up a day late… Yesterday we got to go see Asa in the hospital, which was nice. I wanted to hit Hugo’s and maybe see Biblio, but the timing wasn’t right. Biblio was busy, and the people who run Hugo’s seemed especially dick-like to the point where I didn’t want to go through the ordeal of getting them to behave as merchants. The day was nice though, and I was able to finish the painting up in the basement room as well as move the tv and other things down there. It looks really nice now. I also was able to write my poetry stuff and do an analysis on a paper one of my classmates wrote – these are things that have weighed on me slightly, and I’m glad to have them finished. Now I just need to finish that damn Irish mythology/IRA thing sometime today. yuck, but happy at the same time.

A few things 4 weeks ago

My parents stopped by today. They hadn’t been able to get over for Abi or Millie’s birthday – we live a fair distance away from them – so they kind of came over to celebrate today. My dad brought his hand drill over for me to use, and helped in getting Vonnie’s bed squared away so her room would be finished aside from the painting. We moved the futon/bed she’d been using into the nearly completed family room in the basement, and it fits in awesomely. I just now finished priming the two walls that I’d just put up last month, so now all the family room really needs are for those two walls painted in order to call it finished. All in all, it was a good day – and it’s not even 6 yet!

Yesterday 4 weeks ago

We took the wee one to see Where the Wild things Are. What a really neat movie – the soundtrack is one of the best I’ve ever heard on top of it. Well done.

Library 8 months ago

Went to the St Peter library tonight with Mc Beth and my sweet sweety. After picking out a slew of books, a few movies, and a radio series spotlighting The Shadow, we went to the local market where these HUGE tropical plants were on sale for 10 bucks – Mc beth bought 3(!) of them with her birthday cash. I should take pictures of them. My back is freaking killing me! I have No Idea what I did to it yesterday. I’m going to bed…

The baby took a break from Barbies with Mil, and the three of us broke out one of the Boy’s old games.
