I have no time in the evenings on a Wednesday because I go to a couple of evening classes right after work. I really need to put the effort to doing something before work on a Wednesday or go for a walk at lunchtime.

15 minutes of sanding the walls and ceiling.
10 minutes Wii Fit (Free Step).
The Wii Fit game is great for this. I was doing it every day for about a week, but then life got in the way when I went back to work after Christmas.
I’m going to try and get back to doing some of this daily. Even if I just do 5 minutes it’ll be something, and some days I might stay on a bit longer.
I was trying to get up early and do this at the beginning of the day, but that really isn’t working for me, so I’ll try and do it in the evenings instead.
Eek. My last entry for this goal was 1 year ago. That’s not good.
The Hacker’s Diet has an exercise ladder that gives some exercise every day. It is designed to last for about 15 minutes and so doesn’t take too long, and shouldn’t make you breathless (if it does then you’re on too high a level). As you get fitter you progress up the ladder until the exercise routine again takes you 15 minutes, but doesn’t make you breathless: this means it also acts as a measure of fitness.
I realise 15 minutes isn’t much but it is a start. I’m going to start at about level 5 and increase 1 level per day for a few days to get myself back into it. I’m hoping to get off the introductory ladder this time (up to level 15).
My bad dieting over Christmas and the subsequent weight gain coupled with my imminent holiday have prompted me to start actively exercising again. The last couple of days I have done some of my exercise video (which is split into handly 10 minute sections) and got back on the exercise bike. I can only manage 15 minutes on the bike. I can’t believe how unfit I am, but I will get better. I want to get up to half an hour – I feel that this is all the time I can spare regularly.
This goal is currently being completly ignored.
I am hoping to get a Weight Watchers ‘bonus buddy’ pedometer today. The advantage of this is that it will tell me if I have managed a healthy level of walking. So I think this aim is now to manage to hit that level every day.
This has not gone well recently. I blame it on needing to spend every spare moment editing a home movie for my sister’s birthday. But then there’s always something to blame it on. I intend to get back on track. I’m aiming to do at least one of: walk 7,000 steps, 30 minutes of aerobics video, 30 minutes exercise bike or real bike ride every day. Or a mixture of these.
This is not happening at the moment. I’m finding it very easy to blame it on the hot weather, but before that I blamed it on being ill, and before that on being too busy. I need to make more of an effort.
