scan all my old photographs

Our scanner was part of a printer-scanner-copier all-in-one thing. Since the scanner got dirty and the printer no longer did all the things we wanted it to do, we decided to buy a new one. Which we did. Now all I have to do is get round to actually using it. We’ve printed plenty, but have only done a couple of test scans to prove that the scanner part works. Right after we bought it, we rearranged the furniture in the room and it isn’t even plugged in at the moment – that should probably be my first step :)

So, I made a start. I scanned two packets of photos.
Then I realised that the scanner glass was filthy.
So I cleaned it and rescanned a few photos, only to find that the glass was still filthy.
Then I enlisted the help of my other half to figure out how to take the glass out of the scanner; did so, and cleaned the underneath of the glass.
I rescanned a photo and the scanner is now suitably clean. Unfortunately I now need to rescan all the photos I just scanned.

My other half started this months ago. Neither of us have done anything since then. I really want to get it done, but I can always find something more important to do.
