1. Get over my physical intimacy problems so I can build a long-lasting, sustainable relationship with Luke.
Last night I talked about my experiences as a rape victim in front of fifty people at a Take Back the Night Event. It was a big deal for me. I think I’m renewing my efforts, although I can count this one as completed.
2. Do crazy things.
I want to get a tattoo! Setting up plans with my brother for getting it towards the end of the summer.
3. Get back into writing—write something I can be proud of and can finish.
I’m writing all the time, so check.
4. Do better at school—I want to get straight A’s for the Spring and Fall 2009 semesters.
I’m definitely not getting all A’s, but I’m doing pretty well.
5. Spend one day a week at school with a different group of people (i.e., not Luke, not just Matt on his own.)
Making new friends all over the place.
6. Get back into running. Train strongly and rock my 2009 xc season.
I quit running and it’s turned out to be a more successful goal for me.
7. Run GMR again.
I’m driving in a month? If things work out… they probably won’t…
8. Complete ten more things by the end of the year—so I’ll have 50 completed goals.
Gotta get on that!
9. Be a good person.
As low as my self-esteem has been lately, I can say that through all my volunteering and befriending that I’m being a good person this year.
10. Become more involved in my school.
I’m involved with everything.

1. Get over my physical intimacy problems so I can build a long-lasting, sustainable relationship with Luke.
I’m counting this one as complete, since I did get over a lot of my problems before we broke up.
2. Do crazy things.
I’m involved with so many things, and I’m trying to say yes as often as possible.
3. Get back into writing—write something I can be proud of and can finish.
This is going extremely well right now. Hopefully I’ll have a first draft done my the end of the month!
4. Do better at school—I want to get straight A’s for the Spring and Fall 2009 semesters.
I need to work on Arabic, but my other subjects are going well, I think.
5. Spend one day a week at school with a different group of people (i.e., not Luke, not just Matt on his own.)
I’ve been hanging out with all sorts of people outside the entry since Luke and I broke up and I’ve had time to be with others. I’ve been meeting people and going out to eat with them. So fun.
6. Get back into running. Train strongly and rock my 2009 xc season.
Eh. Went once. It’s nice for a stress buster now and then, but I don’t really miss it yet. May do the elliptical at some point. I’ve been doing abs again, so that’s good.
7. Run GMR again.
I’m driving this year. It’s all good.
8. Complete ten more things by the end of the year—so I’ll have 50 completed goals.
Five more to go!
9. Be a good person.
Lately, this has been about me paying more attention to my friends and less time whining about my own life, which is pretty awesome, I might say.
10. Become more involved in my school.
I have some sort of volunteer commitment, club commitment, or school commitment every day of the week, and I’m loving it. I may not do cross country next week just because I really don’t want to miss out on all of this.

Well, we broke up yesterday, so I guess that’s not going to happen…

I’ve been working really hard at this. I’m taking difficult courses, and I’m doing my homework very diligently, although Arabic is way over my head still.

10. Become more involved in my school.
Lately I’ve been signing up for everything I can. I’ve been volunteering and joining groups, or at least the mailing addresses for them.

1. Get over my physical intimacy problems so I can build a long-lasting, sustainable relationship with Luke.
I’ve been working really hard at this, and I feel like I’m making progress.
3. Get back into writing—write something I can be proud of and can finish.
I’m eleven pages into a project I can be excited about! Also, really enjoying the creative writing class I’m in and the stuff that’s going into my journal. This is going well.
5. Spend one day a week at school with a different group of people (i.e., not Luke, not just Matt on his own.)
Luke and I team up on this one, and it’s been going well. Just little stuff—spending time in different dorms, calling different people up, hanging out with our dorm. It’s been nice.
6. Get back into running. Train strongly and rock my 2009 xc season.
I’ve run a few times, but it’s so cold. I’ll revisit this in March or so.
7. Run GMR again.
I’m helping to organize a team of alumni, but I’ll be driving this year. My relationship with running has been too iffy to really commit to this. I feel good about it now that I made the decision.
8. Complete ten more things by the end of the year—so I’ll have 50 completed goals.
Finished learning how to crochet—I’m a crocheting beast now!
9. Be a good person.
I’m trying, always trying. Going to look into donating bone marrow and blood when I go home in March.
10. Become more involved in my school.
I just got on the list for a foreign policy discussion group. It’s just a filler for now, but it’s a start.

Well, my hair is pretty hot pink. Yup.
8. Complete ten more things by the end of the year.
I’m learning how to crochet now.

6. Get back into running. Train strongly and rock my 2009 xc season.
I went for a run today. It was too cold and windy, and I forgot my inhaler. Bad start. But I did do weights and crunches.

1. Yesterday I bought a book that will help me confront my issues and begin the next phase of my healing process. I am recognizing that this will be more difficult than I originally thought, but I am still committed to moving forward. I’ve already read 145 pages of it, and still feeling good about my potential.
2. I bought pink hair dye. ‘Nuff said.
3. As soon as I finish this, I’m going to call Abby and find a nice place to sit and write for the afternoon/evening.
6. I did crunches today. Er… this needs work.
9. I’m being more diligent about reading, both books and online news sources. This will make me smarter and better informed. In turn, this will make me feel better about myself.
