Renewed Motivation 14 months ago

Since I’ve arrived at college, I’ve made a point to do everything, specifically things that make me nervous. I’m diving head first into new situations, and I’m learning that most of my fears and anxieties are pointless.

  • raw meat (Cooking it, ringing it up at work, and looking at it just does not make me happy. I should learn to cook something with meat in it.)
  • gynocologists
  • not achieving my goals
  • driving in busy parking lots, i.e., at school: I’m getting so much better at this. Although driving in the lot at the final bell at the end of the day is, according to me, a death wish, I’m so much better in general with this.

  • Rollercoasters
  • Calling strangers (to make appointments and such): I’ve made so many doctor appointments in the past few months that I can count this has taken over. I’m really not bothered by it anymore.
  • Doctors
  • Meaningful relationships (who isn’t?) _I’m ready to try a serious relationship now.
  • Regret
  • FailureI’ve gotten so much better about this and regret! I’ve realized that every misfortune can actually be a fortune, and that nothing is what it seems; hence, every failure can actually be an opportunity if I look at it correctly!
  • Forgetting things
  • Claymation (claymation + stop motion = terror)
  • Subway, D’Angelo’s, or any place in which you are in a line and must, off the top of your head, instruct a person in the making of the sandwhich you want.I’ve found that if I laugh, go slowly, and explain to any impatient sandwhich makers that I’m intimidated by this situation that it goes by much more easily. It also helps if there aren’t people waiting behind me.
