I thought having it as a goal would help motivate me, but it’s doing the opposite – every time I log in, I see my failure. I don’t see this happening until I can get to the doctor to get my thyroid checked.

I went for a walk on Monday this week, intending to walk around the cute little downtown area of my suburb. Wound up walking up and down hills for 2 hours in 104 degree heat. When I stopped to take a short break, took my pulse and it was in the high range – just from walking! Also went to the baseball game Monday night, so walked approx. 7 miles total on Monday.
Went to fireworks on Tuesday night, had to park over a mile away, so 2 sessions of ~1 mile each on Tuesday.
According to the Target Heart Rate Calculator on about.com, my “training heart rate” should be 74 – 96 bpm, but my resting heart rate is nearly 80! Is there a better calculator out there, or should I be taking it it that easy while exercising?
This is so difficult for me right now as it’s been in the upper 90’s here and the air conditioning is out in both my apartment and the fitness center of my complex.
I did the elliptical for 15 minutes on Thursday last week, but it was 110 in the fitness center, so I only made it 15 minutes before feeling lightheaded.
My plan is to get up early on Friday and walk around the complex here while it’s still cool outside.
