keep my kitchen clean

Have been doing dishes, putting them in the dishwasher after eating, wiping down the counters, etc. THEN, last night, M went into the kitchen to get a glass of water and saw TEN cockroaches!! He was able to catch and kill seven of them (they were apparently congregating), then sprayed the roach spray along the toe kick/baseboard. I am still getting goosebumps thinking about it.

I guess our apartment building is only as clean as our dirtiest neighbor, but yeesh, that’s a lot of bugs. I’ll be calling the office to have the exterminator come every week for a while.

Took everything out and wiped it out with bleachwater to kill any microscopic beasties living in there. :)

I’ll get it clean, keep it clean for a week (or even two), then let it get awful again. I think I need to start scheduling my time at home like I do at work.

and M is scrubbing everything today as he has the day off. Yay!

Cleaned up as I cooked last night, and ran the dishwasher after we ate.

I put away the clean dishes, and cleaned up as I cooked. The hand-wash dishes still haven’t gotten done, but M is off work today so I’m hoping he will finish that up for me.

I emptied the dishwasher yesterday, and it’s been so long since they’ve been washed that I was able to fill it up completely again and run it.

I did clean up the counters, clean out the fridge, and wipe down the stove, but did not do the handwash-only dishes. I’ll do them when I get home from work tonight, then mop the floor.

Though I noticed yesterday that M made scrambled eggs and left the frying pan in the sink. Since egg smell makes me sick, I left it for him to clean up, so no sink shining last night.

After the dinner party Saturday night, I was exhausted so M put the leftover food away and we went to bed. On Sunday, I did the dishes before doing anything else and got the kitchen clean again!

I feel like such a grownup. ;)

I cooked from scratch last night, and after eating I rinsed all of the cooking and eating dishes and put them in the dishwasher, and washed all the hand-wash dishes save the roaster (which is still soaking in the sink). I wiped the counters down and put the leftovers into the fridge!

I think this may be the first time I’ve cleaned up after cooking the same night. I know it’s something I should have been doing all along, but I’m proud of myself nonetheless. :)
