If I pass I’ll count this one as done and move on to the ‘improve my playing’ goal.
Just got a letter from the ABRSM.
My Grade 1 exam is on 26th June!!!
Eeeeeeeekkkkk!!!!
Just applied online to take my Grade 1 this June/July.
Eeeeekkk!!!
so this goal is on the way. I don’t know at what stage I will be able to say I have learnt to play the piano, what standard is ‘I can play’? but I will mark this is as done I think when I pass my Grade one…and then just keep the ‘improve my piano playing’ goal.
after my initial hiatus earlier this year. I just have too much else to do than to do serious regular practice on the piano.
However having ditched my OU course recently (due to ill health and getting too far behind) maybe I will pick this up instead in the ‘self development’ slot in my life.
So I will reassess once I’m fully fit, and once the Grade 5 violin is in the bag.
And the teacher said I had potential…YAY!!! She split us into two groups, and I was in the top group (mainly due to the fact I could already read music, not any pianistic skills). But I am playing with 2 hands already. Lots to practise, and now need to get lessons sorted out.
and it’s fully booked….BUT, they have had so many interested people they are putting on another course a couple of weeks earlier and I’m now definitely on that one. This is great because the timing suits me much better. YAY!!
I’ve just sent off the form for the beginners piano weekend. This is really bad timing for me as I have so much else on at that time (mid Jan) but it’s such a good opportunity to get started on this goal. Might just need to book some hols from work to fit everything else in at that time, we’ll see.
I’m going to a recital on Friday…mainly Russian music, Shostakovich , Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky. Should be excellent!
