I registered for free with a few casting agencies recently and was glad to do so. But considering the sheer volume of applications they receive, I’ll be surprised if I ever receive a (job-offering) phone call / e-mail from them.
Despite potentially having to wait around for 10 hours for only 5-10 minutes of actual film shooting, I think being an extra would still be worth it just for the experience.
