My parents aren’t ones to candidly or otherwise vocalize their being “proud of me” per se. Nonetheless, they do have their own special way of communicating it—subtly yet perceptibly.

Although whether my parents are proud is at least partially their own decision, maybe there are some things that I can do or not do, tell them about or omit from discussion, etc., in order to nudge them in the right direction.
