“Don’t get set into one form; adapt it and build your own, and let it grow. Be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. If you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; if you put it in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. (If) you put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”—from Bruce Lee: A Warrior’s Journey

I generally prefer to drink non-carbonated rather than carbonated water. Today, however, I decided to change things up and quench my thirst with a bottle of (carbonated) Perrier mineral water. It went down more slowly than a typical same-sized non-carbonated aqua, but was enjoyable nonetheless. Still, I couldn’t help but notice a slight aftertaste that was left behind, which may be sufficient to make me think twice the next time I consider reaching for a carbon dioxide-laden Perrier.
As long as I’m conscious of this goal throughout the day (rather than waiting till evening to remind myself), then I should be able to pace my water intake and avoid getting totally waterlogged.
