3 weeks today 2 years ago

I have done it! 3 weeks ago I decided it was time to stop playing around and making excuses about why I can’t stop smoking and why I needed to have a cigarette. I didn’t use a stop smoking aid; I just went cold turkey. The first 3 days were the hardest and I still have the occassional urge to smoke, but I am a non-smoker and keep telling myself that. I’m so excited about accomplishing this goal! It is definitely one of the hardest things I have done!

Not too sure how I am doing on this... 2 years ago

I was very stressed about looking for work and getting school finidshed and registered for next semester that I forgot to keep track of how much I smoked. I have been giving cigarettes out a lot, too. So, registration is out of the way, finals are this coming week and I have a job. It’s time to get serious. I have forbidden myself from smoking in my car. It finally doesn’t smell like cigarettes anymore. Now that I am orking I am forbidding myself from smoking at work. I only get a 30 minute lunch, which is not enough time to go home and get back, so my cigarettes sit at the house to make sure I don’t break. Leaving the cigarettes home helps me a lot because I never take them with me. So, the only place I can smoke is at home and outside. I think if I could get rid of my back porch I would have acheived this goal already!

This will be the third time... 2 years ago

I set a date: September 25th. I am limiting myself to 10 a day, which won’t be too bad because I usually can get through a day smoking about that much without even trying. It’s when I have nothing to do that it poses a real challenge. So, after it’s easy to do 10 I’ll cut down to five…
