This gig just so happened to be the second time ive been lucky enough to see Deftones live, and although the crowd seemed a lot younger than last time, Deftones were just as good. If not better!
We had arrived at the gig a little late and so managed to completly miss the support act, but we seeming arrived just in time to work our way right to the front. The crowd were restless and soon began chanting “Chino” repeatedly as the road crew worked at setting up the equipment.
Finally after a half hour wait the stage went dark and band members began to file into place. I was pushed forward in the crowd, then all of a sudden Chino Moreno steps onstage and the band lurch into Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) as everybody in the place goes crazy. In the next couple of hours they play songs from Adrenaline, Around The Fur, Self Titled, keeping the theme distincly heavy. Perhaps the shocking thing of the night is the bear minimum of Saturday Night Wrist tracks played. You wont see me complaining though!
Chino finishes the set on Seven Words, bringing an end to this utterly perfect night

Being the height i am [5’3] i generaly stay out of the pit when i go to a gig, but i just couldnt resist it this time. All it took was the opening bars of Pulmonary Archery to start and i was in there jumping about like a loonymental ;)
Alexisonfire simply owned that stage. The support was rather disapointing though, chatting to my mate in the bar area was more fun than Comeback Kid & Beat Union thrown together.

Trent Reznor is the god damn sexiest over 40 year old ever!
Fact!
Edit: Apart from Johnny Depp of course
Nine Inch Nails were simply amazing, not that there was any doubt that they would be. I was second from the front for the whole show, I lost my friend at one point but then found him jumping about 2 people back so dragged him through. They played such a good set, a bit of new stuff mixed in with Closer, Starfuckers, Head Like A Hole, March Of The Pigs, Heresy, Sin, The Becoming… pretty much everything I could have wanted them to play, but hearing them play Hurt live really just made the night for me. Simply beautiful and breathtaking :)
I got some ok pics and a couple of videos but as I was so close the sound isnt too good :/
Support came in the form of the beautuful and talented Ladytron. Who were nothing short of fantastic, we got there just as they were coming on so got to see the whole set! They finished on Destroy Everything You Touch
Both of the girls have the most beautiful hair!
Wow.. what an amazing gig.. im not gonna forget that one in a long time!!! =]

I started off with all good intentions of doing a review that would justify how utterly amazing this gig actually was. Without a doubt something special happened on that stage that i doubt any Brand New fan will forget in a long time and this review i found on last.fm pretty much nails it in every way possible
“This is a band that has truly earned the stage on which they are playing. It must hurt to be this good.”

Ive loved Norma Jean for as long as i can remember, so you can imagine my utter joy when i found not only would they be playing Manchester Academy, but also that the support would come in the form of He Is Legend
Genius!
The fact that Norma Jean ended on Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste only convinces me further of the superiority of this band
This is where its at kiddies
Take note!
