We met in December 1996, started dating in February 1997, were on again, off again until 1998, and then developed a really good friendship through 1999. December 20, 1999 we had an argument via email that ended with “maybe we should just take a break from each other for a bit”. That was 6 years ago.
Of all the friends that have come and gone in my life, she’s the only one I’ve ever really missed. She’s an awesome person (from what I remember), and I’d really like to be able to rekindle a friendship with her. Maybe it’ll work out, maybe it won’t. But I’m open to seeing where it leads.
We’re both married now, and we live an hour and a half apart, so it’s not like we’d see each other all that often, but I’d like to be able to pick up the phone and chat for a bit, or know that I can talk to her about anything and be able to trust her confidence and advice like I used to.
Maybe it’ll happen, maybe it won’t. I just need to work up the courage to call her up and see where she stands on us.
