I was hit so deeply by a scene in a stupid little kid movie…It was a scene where I was moved to my ABSOLUTE inner core to ACT on it…
Movie: Miracle on 34th Street (the new one, 1994…not the B/W version.)
Its the scene where the little girl (Sammy) is placed in Santa’s lap and he starts to talk to her and the mom interrupts saying the girl is deaf and just wanted to SEE Santa..( insert really awkward moment for all three)..Santa thinks for a second as the little girl gives him sad, almost apologetic Bambi eyelashes…then he starts to speak to her in sign language…Watch the scene and I dare you to tell me you’re the same person after seeing it…
and I quote almost every review I’ve ever read about this movie:
“The scene where Santa communicates with a little deaf girl is worth the rental price.”
