私の日本語はだめです。　でも、べんきょうしまう。　私のミクシーがあります。　私の先生はいいですよ。　じゃあ、日本語のクラスはごご三時にです。

All the Japanese you want to know but will never learn in a class is in this book. Ok ok, so maybe not ALL the Japanese, but there are some awesome need-to-know phrases in here. I showed the book to my brother and the only phrase he committed to memory was ごむつける (gomu tsukeru). Translated: I’ll use a condom. Which, if you are going to be in Japan for any extended period of time, is an important phrase to know and understand. So I am now utilizing four sources to better my Japanese. The text book for Japanese class, my conversation partner, Japanesepod101, and now Making Out In Japanese. I should be ready to visit the land of video games in no time.

Just before my Japanese professor left to go to Japan for the Summer she got me in contact with a native Japanese speaker so I could continue my studies over the summer. Today will be our third meeting, and probably our most productive. I have studied several lessons from Japanesepod101.com so that way we will actually have something to work on. I’m trying to do 10 lessons every week. I started at the very beginning of the podcast that started in December 2005. They broadcast nearly everyday. I figure if I continue to prepare 10 lessons every week then I may be able to catch up to the current podcasts at the beginning of 2008. I don’t count their survival phrases and news casts as lessons. I listen to them and transcribe any vocab that they use, but the lessons are what I am focusing on.

Ok, so I’m not sure if that makes sense , and I don’t know any Kanji yet so I didn’t include it. I’d like to find someone on here who I could possibly try to write to in Japanese and even maybe speak to.
