I had a travelling companion that was unable to hang on to the back of a bike so I came to a compromise and took three days alone on the bike and we had a car for the remaining time. To be honest, three days was enough and it was great not having to take all my bags with me. To truly achieve this goal as I first envisioned it would take far more planning and a like-minded adventurer. The experience was still great.

The flight is booked for Februaury and I have put the deposit on a two week rental of a ‘Fat Boy’. So far I have a rough route in mind, heading from Playa del Carmen to Valladolid, on through to Merida then to the ruins at Palenque back to Campeche, Chichen-Itza down to Tulum and slowly rumble back up to Cancun.
I know that this isn’t exactly “across” Mexico but it is as far as I can get on the little time I have away from work.
This is my second year there so little by little..
Does anyone have any advice?
