It was my goal to assemble my quilt over the Christmas holidays, however the local fabric shop in town closed Dec. 24 to Jan. 3 (good for them! I like businesses like this!) and so I didn’t find out if they found a supply of wool batting for me. If I’m going to make a quilt, however imperfect, I want it to be warm and durable enough to hand down, or reuse as the interior of a future quilt (an old wool batting quilt can have the extra material torn off and be reused, after a thorough cleaning). The top was finally done a few weeks ago; I will continue over the next little while to complete the patchwork for the underside (the sheet I have for the underside is holey and plain) and then, after I have the batting and get it together, I will need to figure out how to stretch it so I can do the quilting.
