Paint the house

One thing off my mind and my to-do list!

I have just another few hours to go to click this goal done.

Repairing and repainting the bunny chew marks downstairs does not count. They’ll just do it again anyway.

I paint the trim!

don’t know when I will do it, but I will do my best.

ceiling took 3 coats, need to cut the corners with tape again for a clean line – and the walls had a good paint so it only has been 1 coat to cover. It’s darker but warmer. I have yet to do the trim. I’ve been inspired to do even more wallpaper…

Yesterday two friends and I painted the ceiling (needs 2nd coat) and one yellow wall in my bedroom. I realized this morning I don’t like the colour, but painting it was instrumental to thinking of wallpapering it. If I can get a nice wallpaper like this that matches the blue and introduces the pale and the contrasting yellow, it would expand the space like the yellow paint does, but make it more interesting and rich.

Next week we’ll have the real painting party. I will be painting the stairwell dusty pink, or adobe, sort of. White trim will complement it. I should start filling in all my trim where the animals have attacked, so that it’s all ready for a nice coat of fresh paint.

I started the front entrance two Sundays ago with a dark coffee colour. It required at least 8 hours between coats so I had to wait until the following Sunday to finally finish the job.

You know those rectangular fuzzy pads with wheels for cutting off the ceiling and corners? yeah, those help. They really do.

Anyway, I didn’t paint the closet but I’ve got that saved up for the next time, and I have to go out and buy white semi-gloss paint for the trim everywhere in the house. The bunnies attack the trim, so it’s not just needing a change of colour.

My friend suggested I find one or two others and have a painting party – he’d come – provided I feed them a proper home-made Italian meal after (I make my own noodles). That way, I’d get my stairways, closets, and the extra bedroom wall finally done.
