Many Americans, especially celebrities, are so quick to marry and divorce. Shows like “The Bachelor” and “Joe Millionaire” make it look like being spiritually and legally united with another person is no big deal. But spending THE REST OF YOUR LIVING DAYS with ONE PERSON is a big fucking deal to me! I would never marry somebody if I did not know for a fact that they were made for me. Someone who I could not imagine life without. Divorce is just not an option (except for extreme circumstances, like the relationship turning abusive). The only way I will ever get married is if I have ZERO doubts in my relationship with my future potential spouse. This is a mistake that my parents (and some other adults that I know) made, and it is one that I absolutely do not want to repeat. This is why my goal is “Marry my soulmate” and not just simply “Get married”.
