Many people here have said that this isn’t important… It really depends on where you’re coming from.
For some activities, a simple smile and silence work better than small talk, but not always…
Small talk is a way to bridge people. Conversation commonly leads to more conversation, and that person you thought was genuinely boring five minutes ago could have exploded into one of the most interesting people you’ve met. How are you supposed to find out if they have anything to say if you don’t give them the chance?
Anyway, I got a book forever ago on Cconversational tips, I won’t list it here as I’m not sure it is really doing anything. It has helpful tips, but not a more structured approach…
Anyway, here’s hoping for the best, for all of you… _
