A few years ago I was studying the film for a lit class. I wanted to learn to fold an origami unicorn (you’ll know why if you’ve seen the film), so that I could fold one at the end of the exam, leave it on my desk, and quietly exit.
I found some instructions and briefly tried to learn how to do it, but I found it quite difficult. For once my instincts to procrastinate were beaten back by my desire to do well on a topic I knew a lot about, so I quit trying and studied the script instead.
I no longer have any real reason to want to do this, but I still think of it as an unattained goal (it’s surprising how often I think about it). It surely can’t be that hard to learn, and being able to leave origami unicorns in bars is still a cool skill.
