Three weeks have passed since my last entry and I haven’t started learning how to roll because of my ribs. They are a lot better now, though.
Yesterday we went kayaking in some white water slightly wilder that I would have asks for; my boat got turned upside down three times, which essentially means that I went for a swim three times. Each time swearing that I would learn how to roll.
The best news is that my ribs survived the day quite well. I am almost ready to do whatever sports I want.

Learning to kayak has definitively been worth doing so far. I wouldn’t like to say now “I’ve done this”, though. I want to learn to roll first. C2C or Sweep roll, it doesn’t matter. I’ll start learning that only in a week or so because I was told not to try it with a half broken rib.

Here we go. I’m learning to kayak nearly every evening this week. We have had two days on a lake so far and learned to kayak straight ahead. Not that easy! I loved the lake. It’s so peaceful and yet stimulating to cross the still water.
Today was the first evening in a river. Only a small and relatively calm river, but strong enough for the first time. I don’t know what to say. I loved the lake; and the river? I’m all excited about the river.
So, when will I be allowed to say, yes, I have learned to kayak? Our teacher is national champion. Will I have to top this first?
