create a graphic novel

Most of you probably know this one. There’s a great site for posting your comics or graphic novel excerpts:

It’s free and it is home to a big and friendly community of comics lovers.

After sitting in my apartment for the last 5 months, bored and unemployed, with dreams of working on this goal, I finally did something.

I called a friend 2 weeks ago, and invited him to work on a script together. There were fireworks in the air, and we came up with some really funny stuff!

we came up with 4 scenes, which will be the beginning of the story. It’s a romantic comedy, about a successful handsome and arrogant Hi Tech guy who gains all his confidence in work and romance from alcohol… But what’s he really like when he’s not drinking?

I have already fully illustrated the first 7 pages, including text. It’s in black and white, but I’m using a style that should be “coloring friendly” If I ever find the time. Right now I just want to move forward on this. I really want to see this task done, and hope I don’t get side tracked or bogged down in other things.

Oh and it’s in Hebrew! Well, I gotta contribute to my local scene! :-p

This seems like such a big goal. I don’t know how to start.

I’m not professional, but I have OK artistic skills, and I am an avid consumer of graphic novels. I love the genre, and have always wanted to create comics!

I have a lot of free time on my hands now, so how do I got off my ass?

Any tips?
