I’ll be done with coursework by May… but my program requires one year of interning once coursework is finished.

I will be so relieved when this process is finally complete.

Masters of Arts in Teaching 2 years ago

I write my thesis in the spring, then I have to intern a full year before they hand me my MAT and my teaching certification. It’s very frustrating because I’m in my second year teaching on a Practitioners License (there’s a serious teacher shortage around here so it’s easy to fall in the loopholes to get hired.) One would THINK that my teaching for the past year and a half would count as my internship… but no… I have to have all my coursework and thesis complete before it counts. Thesis should be knocked out this spring, then my official interning next year, I’m looking at May 2009 (and I started this process in August 2005!)
