Found myself quoting Jack Lemmon in my profile. Think it’s time for my semi-annual viewing of “The Apartment.”
Another favorite quote:
“Just because I wear a uniform doesn’t make me a girl scout.”

My husband laughs at me because I’ve been reading More Magazine, aimed at women over 40, since I was 30. But I love reading about women with experience. As my mother used to tell me when we lived in a bad neighborhood and had no money and things were rough, “You do know that you don’t have to jump off the building to know that when you hit the ground you’re going to go splat?” Meaning, learn from other people’s experience. I’ve been learning from More women for seven years now and here’s a quote from Helen Mirren in this month’s issue:
“When you’re 16, you think 28 is so old! And then you get to 28 and it’s fabulous. You think, then, what about 42? Ugh! And then 42 is great. As you reach each age, you gain the understanding and experience you need to deal with it and enjoy it.”
