Laying it out 2 weeks ago

Been picking up more shifts so I can build up SOME sort of cushion in my bank account I owe my friend Kelly $32, and my roommate/best friend over $1,000.
Geez.

$8,000 to $800 12 months ago

Since June, I’ve spent basically all of my money that I saved. It took 5 months to save $8,000(birthday money, tax returns, savings from paychecks, second job tips and checks, etc), and it took just about the same time to spend it all. Damn my life. I’m not even an impulsive shopper, most of it was stuff that I really needed.

I have a goal again. I want to drive up to PA next summer and live there for a few months of so, even get a job there probably. It’s going to be exciting as hell, and hopefully it will aid my soul-searching journey.

So from now on, no superfluous expenditures. I’m going to keep a “I spent __” diary, much like a food diary. Fun fun!

MEN, HELP ME! 16 months ago

In your opinion, which is the better car?:

2005 Buick Lacrosse CX

OR

2005 Honda Civic Sedan 1.7 L Automatic LX

and WHY?

You shall aid me in choosing a car. Thank you! :)

Budget. 17 months ago

I have $2,051.87 in my checking account.
$40 still has to come out from dinner last night, $706.54 will be for the sofa&loveseat(1/2), and around $400 will be for the washer/dryer(1/2).

Leaving me with $905.33.
Minus $24 for my credit card payment leaves me with $881.33.

So I will have $881.33 left to spend on misc stuff for the apartment. Like a barstool, silverware, an alarm clock, etc.

And I still have $4,124 in my savings.

I got into an accident with my car, so I don’t know if I have to pay car payments/insurance anymore yet because my car is pretty messed up(pic attached). I haven’t been able to look for a job yet as a result of no car. :(
But I’m definitely going to put forth an effort, as I need a job. I’m just worried about transportation once I DO get one.

Let's see. 17 months ago

I’m moved to Gainesville!

$3,369.55 in my checking account,
$4,000 in my savings.

The lowest I’ll allow my savings to get down to is $3,000.
But I thought moving money into my checking would give me a better idea of how much I’m able to spend on household things for our new apt.

Safety? 17 months ago

I have $2,000 in my checking($1,013 for my laptop still has yet to be withdrawn, as well as $520 for my bedroom furniture), and the other $500 is just so I don’t have to keep transferring money for gas as I’ll be driving up to Gainesville in 2 days, driving back down Friday, then driving back up for good on Sunday. woohoo!

Anyway, $6,071 in my savings.

Heyyy unexpected. 17 months ago

Today at my office’s 4th of July BBQ, I was presented with a money tree…with leaves made of 155 $1 bills, and one $20 bill on the top.

Savings:D

At 18 months ago

$6,200.

And STAYING there(or at least not decreasing) until July 13th, dammit!

edit, $6,071, because I just bought the comforter set I wanted to buy. I was going to wait until I moved, but free shipping was offered until the 7th, so I figured I’ll just save some bucks :D

I swear on all that is important to me, I will not spend one more dollar of my savings until after I am situated in my new apartment.

I will NOT feel guilty :( 18 months ago

I just bought $30 worth of shorts(2 pairs, 97 cents shipping for each) from Walmart.com.

But I can justify this! It’s hard for me to find shorts that fit me well, and these are amazing. I already have one pair at home that I bought a couple weeks ago, and they had 2 different colors on the website so I bought those since they fit well.

So I do NOT feel bad! But seriously, no more spending until I move next weekend.

I got approved! 18 months ago

I applied for the Amex Blue for Students card today, and got accepted. I also applied for the Victoria’s Secret card Saturday and I’m waiting on that one in the mail as well. Reason?

I have good credit, it’s just limited. I’m going to buy something with alternating cards each month and pay it off right away, so I have more credit resources or whatever. Lower interest rates in the future:D
