“honestly, just cut out any fast food, and junk food. eat normal meals and for snacks dont eat anything like cookies or chips. you dont have to necessarily eat salad all the time…just cut out the shitty stuff. ie: chips, cookies, fast food, candy, and chocolate (although i had a rule that once a week i could eat a chocolate bar lol cause i love them)

one good thing that helped me lose like 15 lbs in about 10 days was nothing but fruits and veggies and water for a week. it cleans out all of the shit from before, then starts your body off cleansed and not full of crap. so then after a week or so…start adding in chicken, pastas, bread.

also… chew your mouthful at least 20 times before you swallow it. a lot of the reasons why people gain so much weight is cause they chew until its good to swallow and then down the whole meal. what you need to do is space out how much you eat. so if you have a good plate full of food… chew each bit 20 times each and you should be good. your stomach takes 20 mins until it tells your brain its full. so you could eat 3 pounds of food and not feel it until 20 mins later, thats what the chewing 20 times is for. its hard to do @ first but it becomes a habit. doing that prolly helped me the most just because it slows down how fast food gets to your stomach. also: drink a glass of water before you eat. it will fill up your stomach just a little bit so you dont over eat. you will feel full faster.

it sounds like a lot but once you start doing it, it just becomes a part of your daily life. theres no STRICT dieting, theres no working out unless you would like to.

i also pushed about 300 crunches a day. it gave me a lot of energy, actually. doing a small routine every morning or night makes you feel SO good.”

Sick. 2 weeks ago

So I feel sick-AGAIN. And unfortunately my need for money is greater than my need to lose weight. So I’m resting so I can work Thurs-Sun.
When I feel better I will definitely start walking again because it’s fun and makes me feel good, but until then all I can do is eat my grocery store food(no eating out), aaaand eat little of it.

Cheers.

GET INTO THE GROOVE 2 weeks ago

So I did 10 laps on the roof of the parking garage right next to my apartment complex, which is how I slowly start getting back into being active.
I bring my IPOD, listen to some fast-paced songs, and lap the garage! Walking on the roof is amazing and > walking on the ground because
1)Nobody can see me, as I’m higher than everyone
2)the garage is never full enough to warrant cars parking on the top floor/roof so I have it all to myself
3)during the day, I can get some sun while walking. No going through shady spots or anything.
4)I can feel comfortable running if I suddenly got the urge to

I think for Christmas my friend in France is sending me a $200 gift card to Walmart so I can FINALLY get a new bike. I cannot WAIT.

Today. 3 weeks ago

SO FAR today I have only eaten when hungry.
I think I should work on NOT finishing a meal once I am full.

Edit:
Okay so I got to be a kite last night and pigged out- ON SOUP!
That is a tiny change that I’m proud of. And I stopped once I realized I was full instead of barreling full speed ahead with any food I could get in my sights.

Improvement!

Back on it! 3 weeks ago

Okay so I weight 180.5 when I wake up. This is 15 pounds gained since I first moved here a year and a half ago. HA freshman 15.
I don’t exactly feel less confident for the most part, because for the first time I have a butt! I gained weight in my boobs and ass as well as my tummy as usual.
I need to set guidelines for myself and follow them.
The biggest one here:
DO NOT EAT WHEN I AM NOT HUNGRY
I have a big problem with this, because I often eat out so I try to align my appetite with when fast food places/restaurants open, and I get “afraid” that I won’t become hungry before they close, so I eat early and end up being hungry later so eating AGAIN. It’s ridiculous and a habit I need to break ASAP.

Don’t eat out as much
If I grocery shop, it will also help me accomplish the first guideline because I will be able to cook anything anytime!

work out at least 15 minutes to start out with
15 mins a day, for a whole week. Just to get into the habit. Slow steps.

I’ll probably be writing in here often. So stick around! :) I will definitely be keeping up with everyone who posts.

It is 2:35 am 12 months ago

I have been eating nothing but crap since I woke up at 5 pm (steal n shake…yum, ice cream, cheetos, candy), and I weigh 165.5, according to my scale. According to my scale, after a binge like this I should weigh 169. At least lately. So I’m trying to fight the urge to “make it up” and eat more, which would most definitely put me at a larger number. It seems funky, that I would feel the need to HAVE TO creep up to that number, but I just noticed that it is a compulsion. Just noticed as in just this very second before I wrote it down in a sentence. Hm…

Since I moved to Gainesville to go to school, I’ve gained 6 pounds, I think. Somewhere around there. It’s not due to me eating more, because I haven’t been eaten MORE per se, just differently. It’s probably due to me not exercising at all. I used to ride my bike every day, but now with school and work, I don’t have the time.

Going to try to lose 10 pounds because I’m remembering to when I was 10 pounds lighter, I was more confident…and the last time I had a boyfriend was when I was 10 pounds lighter, so I’m sure there’s some correlation there. I’m going to have to alter my diet, and find time to exercise. Make time. Something. I have my food diary at the ready.

Game?

Since moving to Gville, I’ve been eating out every night.
Ugh, getting pudgier.

That’s stopping now.

I feel like such a genius, and I'm way too excited/proud 18 months ago

One reason I was gaining weight back was because I caved into eating food from my 2nd job-a restaurant. Mostly fried foods, but also AMAZING cheeseburgers and fries(dipped in ranch, of course). I was reluctant to give them up, and blamed it on hormones(“my period is coming in 2 weeks, that must be why I’m craving them” “my period is coming in 1 week…” “my period is here…” )lol.

Anyway now that my period has PASSED I feel much more clearheaded and I did something I’ve never done before- resisted temptation by creating a subsitute.

So whereas a regular plain cheeseburger and fries(and ranch!) from my restaurant probably costs me anywhere from 500-1,000 cals, I came up with this alternative I make at home:

1 Boca Burger Grilled American Burger (80 cals)
1 piece of 2% american cheese (50 cals)
1 whole wheat bun- Merita brand (80 cals)
1 serving of fries (120)
Hidden Valley light ranch (80 cals per serving…i usually use 1 or 2 servings)

So anywhere from 420-500 cals. And it fills me up faster(whole wheat bread, heck yes) so I don’t consume as many fries, cutting my cals even more.

Just thought I’d share the miracle of subsitution.

Set in Stone. 18 months ago

Because I “cheated” yesterday (cheeseburger with fries and ranch for lunch(i can’t eveb begin to estimate how many calories) and TWO pieces of cheesecake for dinner(880 cals!)), today is going to be STRICT to get me back on track.
Breakfast:
Slimfast shake
Lunch:
Chicken and Wheat thins
Afternoon snack:
Yogurt
Dinner:
Grilled Chicken, salad, pasta

And I shall be riding my bike of course, and doing 3 reps of 15 crunches on the ball!

Although, I DID ride my bike 33 miles roundtrip to the beach on Saturday and I rode my bike yesterday too, I think around 9 miles.

Edit: TOTALLY didn’t stick to the plan, lol. Had 3 pieces of pizza for dinner then pigged out a bit right before bed. BUT i did bike at least 12 miles and do a little bit of a tae bo video!
