Must be doing better 3 years ago

Everyone is starting to look shorter! My one friend even said I was standing straight today. Now to do that all the time and to learn to sit up straight!

More aware 3 years ago

I still need to work at this, but I’m becoming more aware when I am slouching. And yesterday at the gym I noticed that it is starting to feel a little more natural to stand straight. Need to work at it more while at work.

Caught myself slouching again. 3 years ago

Happened to see it in the mirror while working out yesterday. Is it bad that I almost wish I had to wear a corset? Then I’d have to sit and stand straight.

Yoga 3 years ago

I went to yoga yesterday for the first time in about a month. I’m trying to make this a priority and to do everything I can to correct it. I want standing (and sitting) up straight to become second nature.

Picture this 3 years ago

I really need to focus on this more. My friend showed me a few pictures that she got back and in every one my posture is horrid - hunched shoulders, belly sticking out and head crained forward. I look chunky and awkward. Guh, I don’t want people to view me as chunky and awkward, but I almost feel like no matter what I do I’ll always have bad posture. I went looking for a shoulder brace this weekend and couldn’t find one - it like some mythical thing that is only seen in pictures. This is really discouraging. I’m really discouraged.

Overcoming years of slumpiness. 3 years ago

I think this is the one goal I will constantly be working on. I have horrid posture and have since I was a teen. Not sure where to even begin. I’m trying to be more aware of it, but it’s so easy to slump for me. Then I see a picture of myself and think, “ugh—I look dull and dumpy” I definitely don’t want to be perceived as dull or dumpy so this is something I need to fix. Any suggestions out there?
