Half way through the month 10 months ago

and need to pick up steam on this goal. I think my biggest obstacle is dealing with paper. I have been trying to go through my paper piles and shred, discard or file. In an effort to eliminate paper from coming in, I’ve switched to on-line statements from my bank (I already get my cell, electric, gas and internet bills electronically).
I have managed to install my Quicken software, so I can see how I’m spending my money and I did get my taxes done and e-filed today (well, I sent them and am waiting for them to be accepted). Getting the taxes done so early is a pretty big step for me, usually I’m filing if not on April 15, than maybe a day or so before.
Let’s see if I can get a second wind to finish this goal in the next 14 days

Not as energetic as yesterday. 11 months ago

But still trying to plug away at this. I did do a bit more in the dining room and kitchen and the place is beginning to look a lot cozier, but has a loooooooong way to go. I also maintained my clean living room and got my bag ready to go for tomorrow (general work items, clothes for rock climbing) and I made a salad for lunch tomorrow (must remember to grab it from fridge). I am wondering if maybe I’ve bitten off a bit too much, but am still going to keep at it.

February Focus 11 months ago

Due to the inordinate amount of energy I seem to have so far this month, I’m focusing on this goal. Got a lot accomplished cleaning-wise today. Just hope I can keep it up for the next 26 days, especially once I get into the scary den.

Making some strides with this 2 years ago

not quite there though. My plan is to see if I can follow the Routines I’ve set up via FLYlady for the next couple months and see how things look then. I’m trying to use my planner more, but I keep forgetting to write things down—will work on that. I also want to have finished my Control Journal so it has all my emergency information and an updated address book for all my family and friends. Finally I want to have an actual filing system that I will keep up with (I detest filing). Once all those steps are complete I’ll mark this goal as finished.

Boxes, boxes, boxes 3 years ago

Moving is the worst—first I had boxes all over my old apartment, now I have boxes all over my new place. Plus my roommate has boxes all over too. Neither of us can find anything and I’m sure that it will be like this for the next couple weeks. The only plus side was that I did edit some of my belongings prior to moving and will likely edit as I unpack as well.

I bought a planner!! 3 years ago

It’s an 18-month one that started in July this year and runs through the end of next year. It’s not super detailed—just enough space to write a few things down each day, plus pages in the back for notes. Now to get myself to USE the planner.

Under 500 messages 3 years ago

in my inbox. Considering I started with over a 1000, I think that’s quite an accomplishment. Riding that wave of accomplishment I also cut my Hotmail inbox down to about 250. I’m hoping to take a few minutes during lunch and organize the remaining messages into appropriate folders, or at least start to.

Outlook 3 years ago

Need to do a massive cleanout of my Outlook inbox AND learn how to use it effectively for managing my tasks throughout the day.

Work station 3 years ago

Want to get my desk at work all organized by the end of the week. That includes shredding outdated documents, filing papers (figuring out a file system) organizing my computer files and recycling all paper that is no longer necessary. I got a start on it on Friday, but have a long way to go.

Step 1 3 years ago

I’m going to begin this goal by tackling my night routine. I want to go to bed knowing that I’m 50 percent ready to get out the door in the morning. I want to know that my clothes are picked out, clean, unwrinkled and located. I want to be able to get up in the morning and brew a pot of coffee without having to wash the pot first. And I want to be halfway to the train station without having to stop and check to make sure I remembered my ID badge to get into work. This is my step for this week, once I have this down, I’ll add to it.
