And I’m still awake! Uh oh

- I don’t do it EVERY night - but often enough that I at least have a scheduled bedtime, instead of anytime between midnight and twoish.
Managed to make it to bed by 11:10 last night. In theory, my going to bed earlier will make it easier for me to get up in the morning. Unfortunately, I haven’t actually made this a habit enough to find out.
Well, I’ve been getting to bed around 11:30 p.m. for the past two nights… but after tossing and turning for over an hour I’ve also gotten up and flipped through a magazine for 10 to 15 minutes. Does that mean that I’m still doing terrible at this goal? I don’t know what else to do—I’m just not tired at 11 p.m. but I have to get up around 6:15ish to get into work on time. Ugh!
Did much better last night, actually managed to turn off the lights by 11:10. I probably laid awake until midnight, but at least I’m getting closer to my goal bedtime. I even got up at 6:30 this morning so I actually made it out the door at a reasonable time.
Ugh! Failed miserably at the early bedtime yesterday. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Instead of going to the gym after dinner I “napped” for FOUR hours. I didn’t even plan on falling asleep. Needless to say, I wasn’t tired when 11 p.m. rolled around because I had only been up for half an hour. Hungry, yes. Headachey, yes. Toothache, yes. Tired, no. I tried to go to bed at 12:30 a.m. then at 1:30 a.m. and was still tossing and turning at 3 a.m. Then this morning I don’t remember turning my alarm off at all and I’m “lucky” I woke up at 6:50 a.m. so I could make it out the door by 7:30 (only 20 minutes later than I’d like). This “napping” has got to stop—it’s been recurring all too regularly lately, but several times I don’t even want to take a nap I just end up asleep. Ugh.
That’s my new goal bedtime. That means in bed, lights out. Not still talking on the phone, not laying in bed and reading until 1:30 or later, not just starting my night routine of brushing my teeth and flossing. Nope, just in bed trying to fall asleep. Then maybe I can start getting up when my alarm goes off at 5:45 rather than staying in bed for 45 more minutes and then rushing trying to get everything done before rushing out the door.
I’m totally sucking at this goal since adding it to my list. I actually have been going to bed even later. I just have too much to do in my day and not enough day to do it all in.
