Ever since I was a little girl, I would wake up early to watch the Rose Parade each year. Endless rows of moving colorful creations made entirely from flowers fascinated me. When I lived in California, my girl scout troop once got to look at the floats as they were being made. After I joined band in 4th grade I swore that I’d march in the parade one day. But even though I lived there, I had never actually been to the parade. In Virginia I took up marching band and hoped to enter a military band to achieve the dream but then my career goals changed. Now that I want to be a teacher, I still want to see the parade in person and since I’ve also been a florist I’m more excited than ever. Any opportunity to go and see my family in CA is also more than welcome.
