Yarn wars: recycle edition! 14 months ago

Ok, I’ve taken stock of the situation in light of my soon-to-be-nephew and have come up with the following:
New patterns for Matt and Josh & Alexis’ blankets
1 Finished hat for my friend Rick
4 newborn caps & 1 hooded blanket

Also: have many more patterns for baby and still thinking about hat projects/scarfs for the rest of the family.

I’ve got miles of yarn now. With the last of my money I went out and bought more for the baby projects and Matt’s blanket. I’ve found with the new patterns I’ve selected these are things I can take and do at work which has given me the most progress to date. I’m already 1/3 way through Matt’s afgan. If I work diligently, I may have his if not Josh’s complete for Christmas.

Lost in yarn 23 months ago

My closet has become a verifiable storage for excess Wal-mart yarn. Not only is Matt’s blanket still sitting in stage one of two lines and pattern decision disarray, but there is also yarn for the belated wedding blanket (now missed a one year anniversary), five hat projects and at least three other attempts at being crafty. Bah! I really need to start organizing my time so that I’m at least spending one hour a week on something, otherwise it will never get done!

Ok so… I’ve been stuck on Matt’s graduation blanket for a while now. I’m using a new pattern and everytime I get going I have to put it down for at least a week and then I forget my counts and have to start all over again. On top of that I’m making a throw for my brother and my new sister-in-law in the colors of their wedding pattern. I swear I’ll have my master’s degree finished before these blankets ;)

Matt's graduation present 3 years ago

So far I’ve started on my brother Matt’s afaghan. It’s red white and blue like he requested and I’m using a pattern online that is rippled. I’ve gotten a couple rows on it but it’s slow going. I’m hoping to pick back up during the breaks when things get slower.

To date I’ve made a king sized blanket for my Dad, a poncho for my Nana, a sweater for my niece and a blanket for my little brother. Matt is next in line with his graduation blanket and then something for my other niece Kira.
