I went to the American Broadway tour of Spamalot last week. THIRD ROW. It was amazingly fantastically wonderful.
It’s not on Broadway officially, but the closest I’ve gotten as of yet.
I know. I’ve pretty much abandoned 43things and I randomly log on to spew to you reading this about Spamalot. It’s true.

I SAW CATS!
I’m going to be buzzed for weeks.
This theatre junkie just took a big hit.
It was amazing.

... I got tickets to Cats.
December 3rd. And I’m taking my family.
Merry Christmas Mom & brother.
Theatre tickets, as speeding tickets, are very expensive things.

Ok, enough giddy teen-speak.
I’m really happy that I got the chance to go. Theatre feeds my soul, even when I’m not acting….
But, I liked being an audience member for this one- I think I just sat there with my mouth hanging open from begining to end. The music. The set. The lights. Everything.
Sidenote…Cats is coming in December….this could be dangerous.

OK- So maybe not exactly my goal (See a Broadway play implies ON BROADWAY) but RENT is making its stop in the middle of nowhere USA where I live and I just got tickets! I was unsure if I could swing the money, being a very broke college student, so I put it off unil today. I’m in the last row of the balcony, but I’m still really excited. “Seasons of Love” is one of the first Broadway songs I performed when I did a workshop at the Des Moines playhouse when I lived in IA.
Anyhow, I’ve seen Les Miserables a few years ago at the same place that RENT is going to be at.
It’s really difficult living in the midwest with no money and frequent the theatre. But still.
Is it a coincidence that I gave my speech today about Jonathan Larson?
