I have motivation to start sewing: I am having my first baby. I have seen some amazing homemade baby items that are simple to make that are adorable!
My first project will be to make a blanket with patterned material on one side and a coordinating solid on the other side. Is there a way to make it look ‘quilted’ using a basic machine? That would be nice.
My second project is to make a couple personalized baby towels (the ones with hoodies). My mom made some years ago for a friend of hers and put the names on the hoods or on the backs of the towels. They turned out great!
Another project is to make some burp rags with ribbon. I know it’s just a burp rag, but common – babies can spit up in style! I have made them before and have some new ideas of how to use the ribbon and make the burp rags look awesome!
I will probably end up building my own changing table (because I am so tall I need it higher than most of the ones I see at the store). There will open shelves below the table for storage purposes that I want to make some kind of drapery for – something cute and easy to take off and wash when I need to.
Anything else I can make? I think that is a good, basic start.
