I’ve been slow but consistant in my quilting of late. I try to do 1/4 block a day in spare moments. It’s amazing that some of the irregularities in the quilt actually do seem to be ‘quilting out’.

I haven’t quilted in two weeks. I got up early this morning and worked about 20 minutes when I noticed my hands cramping up. It feels like it’s muscular so I’ll ease back into hand quilting gradually.
Working on quilting this afternoon. This would finish sooner if I worked a bit each day. It’s so relaxing and easy, too.
Yes, indeedy! Finishing the quilting on this quilt is muy importante. There are 5 finished 16” squares quilted with a 1 3/4” grid. The thread color, navy blue, works nicely with the magenta background fabric which has a directional black print running diagonally across the quilt. I wish I’d used a 1” grid instead of the 1 3/4” but I’m not one of those nuts who picks out their work and starts over. It looks nice and that’s O.K. with me. The front of the quilt is pieced and appliqued entirely with Liberty of London lawn fabric. I used a Kaffe Fassett print on the back because quilting through two layers of a tight lawn fabric is unpleasant. I learned this important lesson for over a year while I was quilting the Double Wedding ring quilt. The wool batting also makes the quilting easier though it was an unpleasant basting job. It seems wool batting doesn’t stay where it’s supposed to like cotton does.
