Got the shelves assembled and rolled into the closets. Now comes the fun, obsessive part: unpacking and arranging the fabric.

Purchased shelving from Sam’s-it’s amazing that these two huge boxes fit in my Audi! I unloaded them myself and scooted their big, heavy asses into my still unclean garage. I’ve been hauling shelves upstairs and organizing them so I can assemble one tonight after dinner.
Off to the Mountain State Fair, now, where I’ll man the Hydrangea Society booth and people watch.
Ikea shelving won’t quite fit in these closets; damn it! I’d have to go with the much smaller version and that’s not what I want or need. I need space and lots of it; I have no intention of not buying and hoarding fabric. The only thing that comes the closest to fitting is those huge rolling metal monstrosities from Sams Club. I have a few in the storage room. I’d have to assemble them upstairs and roll them back into the bedroom.
To do:
1. Get shelving from Sam’s tomorrow after Guild meeting.
2. Assemble shelving this weekend and place in closets.
3. Remove junk from closets-I guess this should be number two.
4. Spend the following weekend obsessively organizing fabric.
Yes, I guess this is a life goal. I’m going to empty my daughter’s two huge bedroom closets, install shelving, and organize my fabrics. The basement is no place for textiles.
Here’s the plan:
1. Throw out/give away/ relocate all items in closet.
2. Tear out existing infrastructure (lame shelving, clothing racks, etc.)
3. Measure space and order shelving from IKEA. (I’m hoping the Lack/Expedit stuff will work ‘cause it’s cool and cheap.)

4. Paint inside of closets white. Yep, they’ve never been painted. The house is over 30 years old. Aren’t builders great? Pete Green is still a pro at skimpy workmanship.
5. Install shelving.
6. Sort throw material, eliminate junk, organize on shelves.
7. Start creating colorful quilt masterpieces.
